Just a reminder to sign your child's Fire Safety House form that came in the folder last week. Some Tues/Thurs may be receiving theirs tomorrow (Tues), so look for it then.
We have done the Fire Safety House program with Mr. Ronnie for three years. The children learn so much about fire safety and safety in general in a very non-threatening and non-scary way. Mr. Ronnie is great with the children and has experience doing this with school groups throughout the county.
The only concern should be if your child is asthmatic. They should probably not participate in the Fire Safety House but will still participate in the classroom when Mr. Ronnie comes to do his presentation.
The plan will be for one teacher to escort the children through the house while the other teacher remains with those who do not need to go through it. If all children are able to participate then both teachers will go through the house.
For those of you who are hesitant about the day - my own daughter did it for three years, and she would talk about it excitedly for weeks afterwards. The first year she was not too sure about the house but went through it holding her teacher's hand. By year three she was climbing all through it and telling Mr. Ronnie what to do and say next!
We take lots of pictures which you will see at the Christmas program! It is definitely one of our more exciting and enjoyable days at FCC MDO!
