Happy New Year!

We hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas with family and friends.  Your generosity and kind words overwhelmed us this season!  We look forward to serving you in 2014!

Believe it or not, it is time to think about Summer and Fall 2014 at Shining Light.  We have found over time that in order to keep up with all the other programs in our area, we need to begin registration and tours as early as January of each year.

So you will find registration information about both our Summer and Fall programs beginning January 1st, 2014. You can find all the pertinent information, including an updated registration form on our church website:  www.franklinchristianchurch.com - just click on the Shining Light link.

Current families will have the ability to pre-register in January (this includes siblings).  On February 1st, we will open up registration to the community.  Registration fees for current families will not be deposited until March 1st.

We are looking forward to another great semester beginning Wednesday, January 8th!  Stayed tuned for details on our annual Donuts with Dad coming up in a few weeks!

We were overwhelmed with your Angel Tree generosity this year.  Thank you for the donations, the toys,  and the clothing that you gave to help make these foster children feel special this time of year.  We are so blessed to have you at Shining Light!

Wednesday and Thursday:
No car lane
Children need to wear blue SL t-shirt, jeans or khakis.  A white long-sleeve shirt underneath is fine.
Coffee and cookies upstairs at 9:00 - drop your child in his/her classroom first.
Art Show upstairs in hallways surrounding worship center.  Donation jars will be available in order to help defray some of our art expenses.
Doors to worship center will open at 9:30 AM.
Program begins at 9:45 AM.

Ms. Laurel would like to thank all who donated for her marathon.  St. Jude, unfortunately, had to cancel the race the weekend of the ice storm, but she was able to donate the money and STILL race in Huntsville, Alabama this past weekend.  We are so proud of her training and hard work, and she successfully finished all 26 miles!  Way to go, Ms. Laurel!

Tuition for January was due 12/15.  If you have not paid by the 19th, please do so online at www.franklinchristianchurch.com.  Click on the ONLINE GIVING link.  Late notices will go out 12/27/13.

And finally, information about registration for Summer 2014 and Fall 2014 will be available on the church website on January 1st!  We have already had requests coming in for information on next year's registration, so in keeping with demand, we will begin pre-registration in January for current families.

Christmas Program This Week!

We are excited about the Christmas program this week!  Here are just a few reminders:

• Program is Wednesday and Thursday, 18th and 19th
• No car lane either of those days.
• Please join us in the upstairs foyer after you drop your child at his/her classroom.  We will have coffee and cookies for you!  Doors to worship center will open at 9:30 AM.  Start time for program is 9:45 AM.
• Art Show will be located in the two hallways surrounding the worship center.  A donation jar will be available to help off-set the expense of the portfolios and the art supplies that we have used this semester and will need for next.  We appreciate any financial help that you can give us; however, please feel free to take your child's art work home with you regardless.
• Don't forget to have your child wear his/her blue Shining Light tee with jeans or khakis.  Feel free to put a white long-sleeve shirt underneath it for warmth if you have one!
• Call or e-mail if you have any questions.

No worries about missing out on Tuesday - we are doing our PJ/Polar Express Day on Thursday!  Popcorn too!

Williamson County schools are closed Tuesday, December 9th due to inclement weather; therefore, Shining Light will also be closed.

Updates

Busy month!

• Pajama Day on December 10, 11.  Some of the classes will watch Polar Express while the little ones will watch the new Veggie Tales Christmas movie (Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas).
• Don't forget your classroom Angel Tree child!
• Please plan to have your child wear his/her blue SL t-shirt for the Christmas program (18th/19th) with jeans or khakis.  So start looking for it now!
• Plan to drop off your child at 9:00 AM on the 18th or 19th and join other parents upstairs for coffee and to view the children's art work this semester.
• Doors to the worship center will open at 9:30 AM.  
• Side note - we earned another $217 from Kroger Care Cards.  You all are awesome!

Scholastic

As if you haven't already done enough shopping over the break, please consider doing just a little bit more!

We are placing one last order for Scholastic for this year.  We are going to close it out on December 8th, so it will arrive in plenty of time for Christmas.

Please look through the website to order some books for your children for Christmas!  Most books are under $5.  And this week we have coupons for you!  Just ask at the front desk in the afternoon, and we would be happy to give you one!
