Daily Scripture

In the same way, let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will praise your Father who is in heaven.

Zoo Day is on!

Zoo Day is on for Friday, June 3rd at 9:30 AM.  I realize that some of you may not be able to make it that day and others of you would like to join us.  If you cannot attend that day and had previously purchased tickets, please e-mail me at mdo@franklinchristianchurch.com and tell me how many tickets you purchased.  If you were going on a zoo pass and cannot attend, I do not need to know - only those who purchased tickets.

If you would like to attend or need additional tickets for extra children, please e-mail me how many you would like.

I will attempt to make this all even out!  I will collect money for extra tickets and get it back to those who cannot attend.  I cannot guarantee a refund from the Nashville Zoo, however, so hopefully those wanting to go will even out with those who cannot.

Those who bought tickets will need to meet me at the group gate at 9:30 AM.  Those who have passes may want to meet us there as well.  If it's pretty, let's attempt to picnic.  If the weather is severe....I'm giving up for the year and asking for a refund from the zoo!

SEE YOU AT THE ZOO!

I still have not gotten a response from the Nashville Zoo about June 3rd.  Hopefully, today...

Thank You

Thank you, parents and children, for another wonderful year at FCC MDO!  We hope you enjoy your summer and plan to see you in the fall!  Continue to check the blog periodically as I am going to update frequently.

I am trying to reschedule the Zoo Day for Friday, June 3rd at 9:30.  I am waiting on confirmation from the zoo and will post as soon as I know.  I realize some of you may not be able to attend, but let me confirm the date before we start trying to trade tickets out.

If your child is four years old as of June 1st, please make plans to attend our VBS this year.  Information about it is on our website www.franklinchristianchurch.com.  You can also register online.  We have a R.A.C.E. for the prize theme that I think the children will really enjoy.  I will be teaching the elementary lesson, and you will see several of our MDO teachers leading small groups or working in other areas.  We are also still in need of some volunteers if you would like to join us this year.  You will meet wonderful people, and I promise an eventful, exciting time!  If you have questions about volunteering, please e-mail Gail Bivins at gail@franklinchristianchurch.com.

We now have waiting lists for Tues/Thurs, so if your plans have changed about returning this fall, and you have not contacted me yet, please do so.  Also, we have a good base for the Mon/Wed program but still need more students, so if you have a friend who would be interested in the program, please tell them to contact me.  I will be working most Tuesdays and Thursdays over the summer.

ENJOY THIS BEAUTIFUL WEATHER!

Wednesday MDO

Tomorrow is the last day for our Wednesday MDO.  There will be a musical program from 9:30 - 10:00 AM.  Please have the children wear red, white or blue with khakis or jeans.  Drop off is still at 9:00 and doors to the sanctuary will open at 9:30.

Afterward we plan to have a pizza/popsicle party with the kids.  MDO will provide the pizza, drinks and popsicles.  Hopefully, it will be warm enough to enjoy it outside!

We have enjoyed our new venture this year with the Wednesday program.  We hope that your child has learned a little and made some new friends along the way.  We look forward to seeing you again this fall!

OUR TEACHERS

I cannot believe that another school year has so quickly flown by!  FCC MDO is blessed to have wonderful families and the cutest, sweetest, and sometimes funniest children on the planet!

FCC MDO is also blessed with some of the most fantastic teachers around who truly care about the children and amaze me constantly with their creativity, patience, love, and enthusiasm for what they do.

This year is bittersweet for me since my "baby" is graduating from Pre-K!  She began to cry today as Ms. Kim and Ms. Jen began to take down some of the decorations in the room.  She's really not sure about kindergarten at all.  At program practice she was the loudest and most off-key in there.  She loves Ms. Maria and music is her favorite if not quite her best subject!  Today in Dollar Mart she began to sing (loudly) one of the Spanish songs that Ms. Kassie has taught them this year, and I'm amazed how much Spanish she has picked up.  And I love the Bible knowledge that Ms. Joyce has shared with her this year that touches my heart.  So I not only selfishly believe our teachers are great; I've seen it first hand with my own child for the last three years.  My child has benefited in so many ways that it would be impossible to list them all.

Next week will be our last.  Please take some time to say "thank you" to our teachers with a card, note or gift that shows how much you've appreciated them this year.  They spend a tremendous amount of time planning and creating special experiences for your child.  I cannot say enough wonderful things about them.  Please take a little time to share your thankfulness with them.

THIS WEEK AT FCC MDO

Unfortunately, we have had to make a couple more adjustments to MDO this week.  I will try to simplify the information here!
  •  There will be no car lane on TUESDAY so you can help your child adjust if he/she has a new room for the week.
  • When you enter the building, go to the right hallway to access classrooms.
  • Toddler 1 will be in blue room at the very back of the downstairs area.
  • Toddler 2 will be in the Preschool 1 room (the room on the corner across from Toddler 2)
  • Preschool 1 will be in the room behind the kitchenette where we have Spanish.
  • All other classrooms will be the same.
  •  On WEDNESDAY the 2's will be in the blue room at the back of the downstairs area.
  • The Preschool 3's for WEDNESDAY will be determined tomorrow, and I will let you know.
Work is scheduled to be finished on Thursday or Friday, so we expect all to be back to normal next week!
