Daily Scripture

In the same way, let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will praise your Father who is in heaven.

School Directory

We are working on a school directory of families that will be organized by classes and staff. We plan to include your child's name, parents' names, address and home phone number. The directory is intended to be a convenience to families and should not be used for solicitation purposes. If you have any objections to your information being in our directory, please e-mail me at mdo@fcctn.org and I will remove it. Thank you!

NAP MATS

I saw foldable plastic nap mats at Walmart yesterday for $8.88. They are the blue and red ones. We like those better as it is easier to store 12 of them away without taking up a lot of room space. If you would like to have a cover, you can find them online or you can use a king size pillowcase. We do send the covers home on Thursday to be washed. Remember to write your name on the mat as well as any cover that you have.

New Tuition Schedule

The good news is that we didn't raise tuition this year - even for nursery! The bad news is that we did raise the supply fee a little, and we changed the tuition schedule. FCC MDO is non-profit, and we are also completely self-supporting. Thus, meeting our budget hinges on prompt payments and all payments being received, or we cannot cover all our expenses. There is very little leeway when it comes to our budget!

In order to cover teacher inservice and the first two weeks of MDO, we are asking that the first month payment be made by August 15th with each month's tuition being due the 15th before that month (i.e. Aug. 15 - Sept.'s tuition; Sept. 15 - Oct.'s tuition). In this way we hope to cover payroll without worries!

We are also changing the way we collect checks but that can wait until the Parent Meeting! First month's payment of $140 + supply fee (see post below) or $270 (two children) + supply fee can be made payable to FRANKLIN CHRISTIAN CHURCH and mailed to:

Franklin Christian Church
Attn: MDO/Joni Myers
PO Box 680815
Franklin, TN 37068

FCC Members - we have some administrative changes at church, so please mail the payment or place it in the MDO box at the office rather than depositing in the Sunday offering. Thanks!

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

Parent Meeting/Meet the Teacher

Our Parent Meeting/Meet the Teacher will take place on Thursday, August 27th. Parents may choose a one hour time period to bring their child by to see his/her room, meet the teachers and play while mom and dad meet with Mrs. Joni. Parents will have a choice of times: 10:00- 11:00 AM or 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM. This is a good way for teachers to meet with a few of the children at one time and to get to know them and for the children to become a little comfortable with their new setting. It also allows us to go over Parent Handbooks and fill out all those annoying forms that we need to keep on hand!

Things To Know Before MDO Begins

Supply Fee $60 - covers snacks, crafts and other necessary supplies. Supply Fee is due August 15th with first month tuition. If necessary, you may pay $30 supply for first semester and $30 on December 15th for second semester. New students will receive a critters' t-shirt and tote bag. Returning students will also receive an new t-shirt if the old one is too small now!

What you need to supply:

  • Foldable plastic nap mat - Walmart will have these in stock by July if not already. They are about $9 per mat. You may also purchase a cover or use a king size pillowcase. Covers are sent home weekly to be washed!

  • Lunch for your child - please pack healthy(!) lunches that are easy to eat and do not require heating or refrigeration. Also, we are a nut-free facility so NO nuts of any kind (yes, this includes peanut butter!).

  • Extra set of clothes (season appropriate) in case of accidents!

  • Diapers if not potty-trained; we provide wipes.

Welcome to CritterBuzz!

We are excited about creating this post to relay information to all the parents of FCC Mother's Day Out. It is an effort on our part to go "green" while at the same time giving you information at the touch of a computer key and at your convenience. We hope this will eliminate potentially missing out on necessary information and activities. Plus we plan to have some fun stuff on here too to help you see what's going on at MDO!
