Daily Scripture

In the same way, let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will praise your Father who is in heaven.

Fire Safety Day Update

Our Fire Safety Day will be this coming Thursday, Nov. 19th. We will have a visit from a fireman who will bring his fire safety house. The older children will have an opportunity to go through the house in a simulated situation. Mr. Ronnie will also bring all his gear and fire hats for the kids! We will have an actual fire drill for all the children, crafts and snacks, all with a fire safety theme. The Preschool and Pre-K classes will be taught about emergencies and dialing 911 (we are being coached on this by Mr. Ronnie).

The fire safety house is a tool that the Fire Department uses at the local schools. It will be set up in the parking lot, and the Preschool and Pre-K classes will have the opportunity to go through it. There is a fog machine that goes along with the demonstration. A medical form will be sent home on Tuesday giving your consent for your child to go through the house with the fog. If your child has a breathing condition that prevents him/her from doing this, please inform us. They can still go through the house but without the fog effects.

After speaking with Mr. Ronnie today, I realized how important it is for us to be prepared in the event of an emergency. Thursday will be a learning day for your children but also for us as teachers and administrators. Please take some time to talk to your child about the fire drill and following teacher directions.

The teachers will spend some time on Tuesday discussing this with them also. We hope to combine a safety lesson with a little fun that day, and we are looking forward to becoming well-prepared at FCC MDO!
