Thank you
The purpose of Shining Light is to connect children and their families to Jesus Christ through the nurturing of their spiritual, emotional, social, cognitive, and physical growth.
Daily Scripture
In the same way, let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will praise your Father who is in heaven.

- Don't forget your classroom Angel Tree child!
- Please plan to have your child wear his/her blue SL t-shirt for the Christmas program (18th/19th) with jeans or khakis. So start looking for it now!
- Plan to drop off your child at 9:00 AM on the 18th or 19th and join other parents upstairs for coffee and to view the children's art work this semester.
- Doors to the worship center will open at 9:30 AM.
- Side note - we earned another $217 from Kroger Care Cards. You all are awesome!

Scholastic
As if you haven't already done enough shopping over the break, please consider doing just a little bit more!
We are placing one last order for Scholastic for this year. We are going to close it out on December 8th, so it will arrive in plenty of time for Christmas.
Please look through the website to order some books for your children for Christmas! Most books are under $5. And this week we have coupons for you! Just ask at the front desk in the afternoon, and we would be happy to give you one!

our class code: GPTH7
We are trying to earn enough points for an additional listening center for the two Preschool classes!

This and That!
Today and Friday we have a practice fire drill. The teachers and children were great, and we exited the building completely in about 1.5 minutes! The teachers had prepared the children for the drill, but it always helps if mom and dad reinforce how important it is to follow what their teacher tells them to do.
Next week will be our Thanksgiving Feast week. Some of the classes participate and some of the younger ones do not, so just make sure that you check your class e-mails.
Reminder that Williamson County schools are out for the whole week of Thanksgiving.
Mark your calendars for our Christmas Program on December 18th and 19th. It will be upstairs in the worship center. We will open the doors upstairs at 9:30 AM with a start time of 9:45 AM. Nursery will not participate in the program this time, but we will show a video of them! Ms. Emily is planning lots of cute things for the program!
And finally...the weird weather is here. Remember that we follow Williamson County when it comes to delays and closings. If we go one hour late, SL will begin at 10:00. Two hours late - 11:00. If Wms. Co. is closed, we will be also. If we have a delay or closing, we will send a Remind 101 text to you. If you have NOT signed up for Remind 101, please contact Betsy at betsy@franklinchristianchurch.com.

| Shanika Robinson |
Ms. Shanika is now teaching our Toddler 1 class along with Ms. Larinda and Ms. Nancy on Mondays and Wednesdays. This frees up Ms. Jessica to now work four days in Special Education.
Ms. Shanika is married and has three children ages 3 to 8. She is originally from Michigan and is a fairly recent transplant to Franklin from there. We are very excited as Shanika has her B.S. in Nursing from Hampton University in Virginia, and we have already made use of those skills! Shanika also substitutes in Williamson County as a school nurse, so you may see her in some of your older children's schools.
Shanika is a member of Strong Tower Bible Church and enjoys cooking, reading, jogging and spending time with her family.
We are so happy to have her here!

This week at Shining Light
Monday and Tuesday - Patriotic Days - wear red, white and blue. The children will continue working on the Pledge of Allegiance and add The Star Spangled Banner this week!
Thursday, November 7th - Join us at Chick-Fil-A on Columbia Avenue (the one by Target) for dinner with the family (5:00 - 8:00 PM) and a little entertainment from our Pre-K children. Performance begins at 6:00 PM! Make sure you mention Shining Light when you order so we get a percentage back! It is a great way to meet other families and spend some time getting to know our staff.
