9:00 AM - All nursery parents unless you are a returning parent (ex. second child at MDO)

9:30 AM - All new parents to FCC MDO including new nursery parents

10:30 AM - All returning parents to FCC MDO

Format

You will be directed to your child's classroom where he/she will be able to meet the teachers and spend approximately 30-45 minutes with them. Parents will go to our chapel area for an informational meeting. There will be documents to fill out as well as handouts. This is a very important meeting for those who are new to FCC MDO, so please make every effort to attend. If you will be unable to attend this meeting, you need to contact Joni Myers to pick up a packet of information before MDO begins.

Fall Schedule

I have attached a preliminary schedule for fall on the right hand side of this blog. I need to explain our tuition schedule. You will also notice several fall Tuesdays when Wms. Co. Schools are out. That is our reason for beginning MDO in August. I wanted you to be able to go ahead and plan for those out-of-school dates.

The calendar does not include any "special" activities that will take place this fall. The teachers will have input on those at our inservice in August, and they will be posted after that.

• There will be no tuition in August to compensate for Tuesdays out this fall. However, we collect tuition one month in advance which means that you will have a payment in August but not have a payment in May.
• September's tuition is due August 15th. You may mail the check to the church or drop it off in the MDO mailbox in the church office. If you are a member of FCC, PLEASE DO NOT PLACE IN COLLECTION PLATE ON SUNDAY! All monies need to come through MDO first for accurate record keeping.
• Tuition is $150 per month with a one-time supply fee of $50. Siblings are $130 for second and $110 for third. All checks need to be made out to Franklin Christian Church and memo'd "MDO". Please do not make out any checks to MDO - we do not have our own account.
• We do not have a direct deposit option nor can we accept checks mailed from your bank. All checks will need to directly come to MDO. We will explain system at the Parent/Teacher meeting August 24th.

Supplies for Fall

Tax Free weekend is set for August 6-8. Here are some items you will need for the school year!

Nursery, Toddler 1 and Toddler 2 will need plastic nap mats. We like the red/blue ones at Walmart as they stack easily. You may purchase a cover for them (or large pillow case works), but we will send it home each week to be washed. The older classes will not be using a nap mat this year.

Each child will need to bring a lunch. We are unable to refrigerate items, so you may want a cool pack for the lunch box especially if you are packing bottles for the nursery. A sippy cup, juice box, or small bottle of water is suggested for Toddler 1 - Pre-K. We also recommend finger foods that are easy for the children to eat themselves (crackers, cheese, fruit, pretzels, applesauce or yogurt) and do not require re-heating. FCC MDO will provide snack each day. We are a "NO NUT" facility due to members of our church with severe allergies, so please do not pack peanut butter, granola bars or any other items that have nuts in them.

FCC MDO provides a tote bag for your belongings so you will not need to purchase any kind of backpack.

Preschool will need to be either potty-trained or in pull-ups. Nursery - Toddler 2 will need to pack diapers/pull-ups, but we supply wipes. Please always pack an extra set or two of underwear for the older classes!

Nursery Parents: 9:00 AM

New MDO Parents (first year at FCC MDO): 9:30 AM

Returning Parents to FCC MDO: 10:30 AM

For those of you who are new, we ask that you bring your child to meet his/her teachers and spend a few minutes with them while parents meet in our chapel area. There we will hand out Parent Handbooks, go over basic information and have you fill out some necessary forms for us. This is your opportunity to meet the staff, ask questions, and have your child spend a little time with the teachers before that first full day.

Then Thursday, August 26th will be the first full day of MDO - 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

MDO Flood Relief

Last week FCC MDO gave two gift cards to our two MDO flood families. Each gift card was for $150 to help out in a very small way with the overwhelming expenses that each of these families incurred after the May 1st flood. Thank you so much for your generosity! If you wrote a check and would like a copy for your donation records, please e-mail me and I will send you one. Again, thank you for helping out our families!

Summer Camp

We are gearing up for our first MDO summer camp tomorrow. For those attending you will find a VBS style format with each age group having a group leader and taking them to different activities. We will begin each of the days with Chapel. The children will be learning about David and memorizing Psalm 150:6. After Chapel they will rotate to the following activities:

1. Outdoor play

2. Bible craft

3. Storytime (Bugs, Bees & Butterflies)

4. Curriculum craft

5. Snack

6. Lunch

Our snack for tomorrow will be vanilla ice cream cups. We also have popsicles for those with milk/egg allergies. Be sure and let your child's group leader know if your child has an allergy that prevents him/her from either of those snack choices.

VBS at FCC

Vacation Bible School will be July 19-23 at FCC. Times are 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. VBS is for children ages 4 through completion of fifth grade. Registration is available online at www.franklinchristianchurch.com. If you are interested in registering a child younger than four, check on the possibility of volunteering at VBS!
