- Don't forget! We will be here on Friday, the 18th to make-up for Monday, the 14th.
- Tuition for November was due October 15th.
- Next week (October 21-24) we will have Kroger Cares cards and Shining Light car magnets available for purchase in the foyer (Look for Betsy). Each are $5. The Kroger card is worth $5. Right now we have only four families using the Kroger card which is why we are having trouble earning $$ for classroom toys! Please consider helping us out. This is our only major fundraising that we do, but it only succeeds if the majority use it at least occasionally!
- Costume parades/Fall Parties are October 30 and 31st. Teachers are collecting for pumpkins and candy in most of the classes. We buy our pumpkins from the Cooper Trooper Pumpkin Patch which raises funds for childhood cancer family support. Cooper Cook is one of our former SL children and a cancer survivor, and we always want to give our support to this great organization and wonderful family. You can buy your large pumpkins there too! They are located across from Lowe's and next to Walgreens on Mallory Lane.
- Please remember no scary or occult costumes (devil, witch, serial killers...) for our costume parade!
And finally, our morning teacher devotions are centered around the book 1,2,3 Magic for Christian Parents by Thomas W. Phelan, Ph.D. and Chris Webb, M.S., M.A., NCC. The discipline method involves counting the behavior and many of our teachers are using this in their classroom. The most interesting thing is that our teachers who use it at home and then find it used at school are finding great results. The cohesiveness of discipline methods between home and school can be very valuable. If you are having any trouble with discipline at home or feel the need to be more consistent, please be sure and read this book. You can find it on Amazon.
