You should have received a note in your child's folder or an e-mail from your child's teacher indicating what day he/she is going to have portrait taken. We will send home information about M/W days tomorrow (Wednesday). We do not have a specific time; however, all will be taken before 11:30 AM on the day scheduled.
I also need to apologize. I neglected to send Scholastic books home on Monday although I had them bagged up and ready to go. They are now in responsible hands (your child's teachers!) and will go home tomorrow!
We are actually going to place two Scholastic orders this month. They are offering a free election kit that I thought would be good for our Pre-K children, so we want to get that delivered in plenty of time before the Presidential election. So we will place one order sometime early next week if we can get $20 worth of orders, and then a later one by the 18th.
And finally, dust off those Kroger cards! We will be sending home information about supporting our program through Kroger gift cards. If you purchased one last year and have used it in the last 90 days, it should be good to go. If you can't remember the last time you used it, try to load money on it at Kroger, and they will tell you if it is still usable. For those of you who have not purchased a card, they will be available for $5 and the card has $5 on it. We receive a percentage of money placed on the gift card and used for shopping at Kroger. Every time we have $5000 worth of groceries purchased, we receive about $220. So it takes the effort of all to make it profitable. The Kroger gift card is also good at any Kroger in the country, so if you have a relative who shops there, they can help us out too! Right now we need about $1400 to get another check, so buy some groceries or gas at Kroger this weekend - using your Shining Light gift card, of course!
