At FCC MDO we always seem to forget what the first day is like! We are so accustomed to the routine by the end of the year that we forget it's like starting all over again. Overall I thought the children adjusted wonderfully. Nursery felt it was a better first day than last year (sorry - last year's nursery!). Ms. Maria and Ms. Joyce felt that Chapel had a wonderful start, and the kids enjoyed playing outside in the beautiful weather. Our returning children seemed very happy to be back with all their old friends. In fact my child apparently broke down because it was time to go home, and she wasn't done playing!
While the weather is nice, we are adapting the front to a play area. We will have an area blocked off with cones, but if you come in the middle of the day, just be sure and be careful in the parking lot.
Your child was sent home with a Scholastic catalogue(s). I worked on the website last night but want to check it one more time before I send out the codes. Wouldn't you know they redid the website just when I had mastered the old one :) We will take orders online or you can send in until September 20th for the September catalogues.
