We wanted to let parents know that there have now been two cases of hand, foot, and mouth disease in the Nursery. This is a common virus occurring in summer and fall. It causes sores in the mouth, on hands, feet, and sometimes legs and buttocks. It is spread through coughing and sneezing. The incubation period is 3-6 days and there is also fever involved.
You can click on the title of this post to check out more information about the virus (it will take you directly to the site). Remember to keep your child home from MDO until he/she is fever-free for 24 hours.
Thanks!
