FAMILY SPRING FESTIVAL

Franklin Christian Church would like to invite you to our Family Spring Festival, Sunday April 15 from 3:00 - 6:00 PM.  There will be free food, games, music, inflatables, etc. for the whole family.  Please plan to join us for a great afternoon of fun!  

Rain date will be April 22.

Don't Forget!

Don't forget your 12 filled Easter Eggs on Monday and Tuesday of this week!  No chocolate or nuts.  Age-appropriate please and stickers or other small toy are fine to place in them instead of candy.


Have your child wear sturdy shoes on Wednesday and Thursday since we plan to have the hunt outside!

New additional e-mail for MDO

We have spent a considerable amount of time this year updating and computerizing some of the way that we do things around MDO.  We are now logging all MDO payments into a database which will allow us to quickly check payment records, and for those who need tax information, we will eventually be able to supply you with a computerized form.


Kely Fouraker handles all our financial matters, so we have created a new e-mail for her to answer questions regarding payments and for PayPal receipts to go directly to her instead of only to me.  Sometimes I get a little behind, and she's better about staying on top of it all.


Her new e-mail address is mdorecords@franklinchristianchurch.com.  I am going to post it on the side along with my e-mail address if you have any general comments or questions about MDO.  

FYI

Scholastic orders are due today (March 19) so we can get books in before Spring Break/Easter.  Scholastic is now giving us both points and $3 coupons for every online order placed between now and May.  The activation code is on the right hand side of this blog, and the website is www.scholastic.com/bookclubs.


The final section of our playground equipment is expected to arrive tomorrow! We are so excited!


A question was asked about putting stickers or other prizes in the Easter Eggs rather than candy.  That is absolutely fine and probably more age-appropriate for the little classes.  Thanks for the reminder!  Remember eggs are due to classrooms March 21-27.  Egg hunt will be the 28th and 29th.

Car Lane and Easter Eggs

Okay, here goes that MDO director fussing about car lane again...


We try to have as few rules as possible but when you combine kids, teachers and 2000 pound vehicles, you just have to have some.  Please do not unbuckle your child from the car unless you know that you are parked and the first three cars on either side of the car lane.  We only unload three cars at a time.  We move out three cars at a time, so if you are number 4, you will be moving forward.  I realize that the possibility is slim that you would have to slam on your brakes for some reason, but it can happen, and your child would go flying forward if he/she is loose in the car.  Thank you for you help and attention to this.


A note went home today about the Easter Egg Hunt, and one will go home on Monday.  Here are the high points:

• Egg Hunt - March 28 and 29 - hopefully outside
• All classes will participate
• We need you to bring in 12 plastic eggs filled with pre-packaged candy - no nuts, no chocolate.
• Check with your teacher about bringing Easter basket.  Some classes plan to make their own.
• Teachers will collect eggs on March 21, 22, 26 and 27.

Fall 2012

I wanted to update you on registration for Fall 2012.  I know many of you have recommended our program to your friends, and we appreciate that so much!


Right now all of our Tues/Thurs classes with the exception of Toddler 1 are full.  Toddler 1 has only three openings left.  Even the waiting lists are now closed for Nursery, Toddler 2, and both Preschool classes.


We plan to expand the Mon/Wed program by adding two classes, so there are still openings there (with the exception of Toddler 2 which is now closed).  So if you have friends who are interested, you might pass along this information.


Please remember that your registration/supply fee of $100 is due no later than May 2.  We will remove your child from the roll after that day in order to make room for our waiting list applicants.  Please make sure that you have it in by then.  Unfortunately, we are not able to set that up on PayPal due to a couple of reasons, so payment must be made by check (FRANKLIN CHRISTIAN CHURCH).  Just a reminder that we run all monies through the church, and MDO does NOT have its own account, so checks should always be made payable to the church only.
