Week of May 5
We have a lot going on the next two weeks of Shining Light!
- Teacher Appreciation week is this week. Show your teachers how much you love them with a card, note, letter, snack, flower, or other small gift! Hadley has the Teacher Favorites lists if you need them.
- Lynne Davis is enjoying herself at DisneyWorld this week, so please direct all questions to Hadley Elkin at hadley@franklinchristianchurch.com.
- And the note above reminds me to welcome Hadley Elkin to everybody at Shining Light as our new Assistant Coordinator of Shining Light! Hadley has been teaching for a couple of years in the preschool classes, and we decided to pull her out of the classroom to assist Lynne. We are excited to have her here!
- We will be practicing our Spring Program and Pre-K graduation this week, so please make every effort to have your child here and on time.
- Pre-K children will be having graduation pictures taken this week. Look for more information in your weekly teacher e-mail.
- We are planting this week, so you may want to bring your child in old clothes that don't mind a little dirt!
And I can never tell you enough how blessed we all feel to have your children each week.
Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your lives.

NO CAR LANE APRIL 24 and CHUCK E CHEESE
There will be no car lane tomorrow, April 24th as we set up a tent for the Yard Give in the front parking lot. Please do not park in this lot either as there will be large trucks and people jack hammering into the asphalt!
Once the tent is up though, you should be able to park in the lot that afternoon.
Also, if you have large items to donate to the Yard Give, you may begin bringing on Thursday afternoon or all day on Friday, the 25th. If you have clothing or bagged items to donate, you may bring in to Shining Light, and we will see that they get to the right place.
____________________________________________
Also, we raised $224 from our Chuck E Cheese Spirit Night! Thank you so much! We have targeted the money to go to our gardening activities with the children. Ms. Nancy and Ms. Larinda in Toddler 1 are spearheading a naturescape for our children with plans for flowers, vegetables and herbs to be planted around the property. We are so excited about this new endeavor! Studies have shown huge benefits to children learning about the growing process and caring for our earth, and it has inspired us to add this to our curriculum.

April 26 Yard Give
Franklin Christian Church will be hosting a Yard Give on Saturday, April 26. We are looking for good donations of gently used clothing, toys, furniture, home decor, etc.
We are really wanting more toys this year, so if your child has outgrown some things, please consider donating!
How to donate: we will take donations beginning Monday, April 21st. We are going to store in the old house. If it is a furniture item, it can be brought on Thursday afternoon, April 24, Friday, the 25th or before 7:00 am on Saturday, April 26th.
***If you are donating an appliance or major item, please make sure it is in working order and functioning.
****Because we will be setting up the tent on Thursday morning, April 24th, we will be unable to do car lane that day. Please park across the creek that morning. You may use the parking lot in the front in the afternoon.
