Daily Scripture

In the same way, let your light shine in front of others. Then they will see the good things you do. And they will praise your Father who is in heaven.

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and have exciting plans to ring in the New Year! I want to apologize if you have e-mailed me, and I haven't responded. Our house ended up being a sick ward over the break with no end in sight yet.

We start back Tuesday, January 5th. We plan on January being a calm month with no special activities planned except for a homemade soup day to go along with the story "Stone Soup". We will ask everyone to bring one item to go into the class pot of soup.

Weather can get tricky, so please tune into Channel 3 on Comcast. We will follow Williamson County school closings. Once again - if Wms. Co. is closed, we are also. If they go one hour late, we will also. If two hours late, we will have MDO from 11:00 - 2:00 PM to give you at least a couple hours to get some things done! FYI - There will be NO CAR LANE on days that we go late!

Enjoy this last weekend and Happy New Year!

Tuesday, December 15th

Christmas parties are tomorrow. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered to help. The children will be doing a book exchange ($5). Boys bring a book for another boy, and girls for another girl. Please wrap your book (I wrapped Mel's and then just wrote on there "From Melody Brooke").

Thursday, December 17th will be a regular day for MDO. We will then return on Tuesday, January 5th.

FCC MDO wishes all of you a safe, healthy, and blessed Christmas!

No School Thursday

Remember no school tomorrow - Thursday 12/10. Our teachers will be helping to recreate Bethlehem at FCC. Please plan to bring your family on Saturday for this special event (10:30 AM - 1:30 PM). It is really amazing the work that goes into this event. My family enjoyed it last year, and we would love to go this year, but our oldest is graduating from UT this weekend!

I will send information and reminders about Tuesday's Christmas parties tomorrow.

Thank you!

Just wanted to say a big "THANK YOU!" to all of the teachers & children for your part in the program yesterday! Thanks to Mr. Bobby & Mr. Greg too for running our screens and sound in the back.

Thank you parents, friends, and family for joining us for our program. I had a wonderful time learning and singing with your children this year so far. Thank you for sharing each of them with me! Have a very Merry Christmas & a blessed 2010!!!

FYI

We discovered the November Scholastic order yesterday at 1:15 PM. We rushed through organizing it but didn't quite finish. So if you received all your books, great! If you are missing a few, they are in a box at my house ready for me to sort this weekend. I will have them ready Tuesday morning for everyone. Thank you so much for ordering - we received many Free Book coupons to order more books for MDO. Our library is growing thanks to you!

Not to sound like a broken record, but please remember to have your children wear their blue MDO t-shirts on Tuesday for the program. You will have time to change your child afterwards for his/her picture with Santa. We are looking forward to a special day!

And you've heard this before, but MDO can guarantee that tuition checks come to us only if you directly give them to us. We have found several problems with mailing them to the church, so please use the envelopes provided and send them in with your child's folder. Then the burden of blame lies on us if they are lost. And yes, we will work on the stamp situation which is a little confusing. If you use our envelope, you get a stamp when we receive the check; the confusing part is that it will state "Oct. 15, 2009" and you need to know that is for NOVEMBER'S payment. (The nice part will be that you will be done with tuition payments April 15.)

Have a wonderful, safe and healthy weekend!

NOTES

A note was sent home today reminding parents of a few things. (And now a few more that I have remembered!)

Weather Closings: follow Wms. County Schools - Comcast channel 3 - I will also have info that morning on the blog.

Christmas Program: Tuesday, Dec. 8 - please have your child wear his/her blue MDO t-shirt with white turtleneck (if you have one) and jeans. You may bring another shirt/sweater to change into for the picture with Santa. Program begins at 9:45 AM - parent coffee is from 9:00 to 9:30 in the Youth Auditorium upstairs.

Second semester supply fee is due now. If you only paid $30 in September, please send in the second semester fee of $30 now.

NO SCHOOL THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10 due to FCC Family Visit in Bethlehem. We invite you to join us on Saturday the 12th with an experience in Bethlehem during the birth of Christ. (Times: 10:30 AM - 1:30 PM)

Just a reminder - in order to avoid "lost" or late checks, please do not mail your tuition payment to Franklin Christian Church. Please send in your child's folder. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Don't forget to order pictures from Andrea Davis - no late fee until after December 3rd, so get those orders in! 50% of the profits go to the playground fund!

Thank you to those who are bringing in canned goods for The Well. We will keep collecting through December 8th.
